Thoughts, ideas, bitching and bragging about World of Warcraft, raid and guild leading, and whatever else comes to mind...filled with the things Lark wants to say to her guild but probably shouldn't.
At least not to all of them. Not yet anyways....

Chicken

Nope, TOGC didn’t happen.

We went to ICC as expected. It was kind of a flaky, spacy mood at first but it was overall not too bad. The usual suspects are dead and we spent some quality time on Dreamwalker. Our issues there, I think, are a combination of bad tanking and DPS that isn’t used to bad tanking. The DPS therefore doesn’t run from big things that will hit them and they stand there beating on it and dying with surprised looks on their faces because no one pulled it off of them. I’m still looking for a tank to blow me away.

The reason we didn’t go to TOGC? I chickened out.

Recruiting is getting harder and harder as we get closer to the end of the content and people are either “taking breaks”, involved with springtime things involving sunshine or school, or sticking with the guilds they have because they’re either seeing the content they want or have given up on seeing the content they want. This means I need to keep the people that are in the guild happy. Also, I realized, we have largely weeded out the reset raiders that used to be such a pain in the ass every Tuesday. I genuinely like most of the people in the guild at this point - some more than others but overall there’s a pretty good feeling - and I don’t want to lose them to a guild that is going to carry them through the content we haven’t downed yet. So, their happiness won out for this week.

Back to the recruiting drawing board for me. We still need a couple of raiders that don’t have RL commitments (or a fear of commitment) to allow us some breathing room certain days of the week. Should I see us slipping again though….TOGC here we come.

  1. For Dreamwalker I usually go as follows

7-8 Healers: 4 going in at all times (2 pallys, druid, shaman). They can't miss a portal they do they will lose stacks and you're screwed. If you are running 8 healers have one just stay out and spam the boss as their job. The only way they stop healing the boss is if one of the raid healers on the outside dies.

Priest shackles on Mages are your friends use them. Less people slowed means more people can get to the skellies quicker.

For the Skellies don't hit them at all till they are in the position where everyon can reach them they won't cast Lay Waste until someone hits them or they cast 2 fireballs. It is because of this that you should not interupt the fireballs if you do they can't cast them then will cast lay waste.

For Zombies I have a hunter team with an Ele Shaman or a warlock and kite them around. This way they can get them out of the raid and do pretty good damage to them. Other DPS will only be on them if nothing else is alive.

If you hit the enrage cast army, earth eles, just make sure supressors are down and everyone just spam the boss like a champ.

Hopefully this helps keep at it and good luck.
